Catharsis

Catharsis is a slow burning film that inveigles the audience into participating in a game of masterminds. It's separated into 3 narratives; Achilles’s, Rebecca’s and 28's. Within Achilles’ narrative, the audience experiences the tragedy of losing someone you cared for, the pain of loss and rage from being blamed. In contrast, Rebecca’s narrative is almost inhuman. It expresses a perfect life. A character whose lifestyle displays as robotic and calculated. The third narrative is what most filmmakers are advised not to do; 28’s story does not show, just tells. The idealistic affection of a lover is displayed with the use of voice-overs that blend into the story of the two siblings.
