Cathay Camera Club (Logo Rebranding)

  • Carolina Cravinho

Recreation of a brand new logo for the Hong Kong's premier English-speaking photography club - Cathay Camera Club.

The request was to create a new minimalist logo design and respective business cards.
The main purpose was to use the shooting mode dial shape and cut in half to look like the letter C.
Following this idea, the final result became a repetition of the letter C yet still inspired on camera dials.
Born in 1982, Cathay Camera Club is a local Hong-Kong multi-cultural photography club, with an international flavour.
“Cathay” is an (old) English alternative name for China.
CClub members can be any Hong-Kong based photographers of all skill levels and nationalities with an interest in photography and who wishes to increase their skills and appreciate the work of others.
Every year, the CCClub organizes up to 10 or 11 monthly competitions with both an open and special theme photo plus a given opportunity to showcase their work in an annual public exhibition and win a award.  Professional guest speakers demonstrations, social events and some workshops are also held by the CCClub.
