We were commissioned to create an animated safety video for tourists returning to Cayman after the international lock-down. The video will play across the main Cayman website but also on partner sites like British Airways. Because regulations keep changing we needed a modular animation with elements that could be dropped in or removed at will. We storyboarded a series of generic scenarios, pre, during and post travel and supported that with text that could be easily updated. We kept the film under 60 seconds with a layout that could flex between website and social media formats. Stylistically we were inspired by vintage travel posters, introducing an element of nostalgia would sweeten the message. The film uses a combination of traditional animation and 3-D rendering.
