I won the internal competition at IED instructed for Aurora Due, where I had start a cooperation later on, about the restyling of the pen "Auretta", historical product of the company.
During the project I've been made research activities in reference to ergonomic act due support writing, keeping attention at versatility and adaptability trough different materials. This bearing in my mind the aesthetic aims of the original project.
Starting from the original "Auretta" concept, I've been trough the 50-60 of the 900 Century, just keeping a glance at the american skyscrapers of that periods and the organic architecture of our century, ending with some reminds about the bugs life and world, with a recall to the praying mantises and beetles,that leading me to the cap and the body shapes of the pen.
Changeable colours, the chance to built some switchable components and the analogy of packaging with a leaves cocoon remind me the chameleon's features, that has been the name of the project.
