I work with relationships Charity 'Talk Listen Change' on an ongoing basis to produce illustrations and GIF's for their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The charity delivers a range of integrated support, therapies and programmes of work which help improve emotional wellbeing and ensure healthy and happy relationships. Working with their Marketing & Design department, It is my duty to convey the positive messages regarding their counselling services that can often seem daunting, while also touching on more taboo topics such as domestic violence and sex therapy. The challenge of addressing such topics has enabled me to grow my creative abilities and pushed me out of my comfort zone when thinking more innovatively and critically about design. I believe through working closely and frequently within their Design team to establish the Charities aims, I have a developed a better understanding of TLC, which contributes to reaching a wider audience which will ultimately aid growth. After being given loose briefs, I am able to work creatively within their brand guidelines in addition to offering my own creative input enabling my practice to develop. While often required to work to tight deadlines, I have been able to immerse myself in a professional team of creatives, all working towards the same goal. With regular meetings and critical feedback, I feel collaborating with TLC has enabled my understanding of translating concepts into illustrations has improved while giving me enough creative freedom to investigate and adapt my style. It's not only enlightened me to the amazing range of services they offer- such as Family Support, Adult Counselling and Domestic abuse services- but it's taught me vast amounts about collaboration when working closely with my mentor Paige and Graphic Designer Lucy. This project in particular includes material for the launch of their Instagram account, while also showing part of their Facebook campaign and Tweets. I continue to work with TLC on a voluntary basis and am thoroughly enjoying working with a team which enlightens me to the wider spectrum of design and social media.
