French is my first language and I wanted to give an insight into my childhood. These brands are the dominant ones in my memory. The Michelin man is an iconic symbol of France, hugely significant to me as I grew up spending hours playing in the Michelin building, Chelsea, London where my parents worked. Asterix and Obelix was my first experience of an adventure theme park. Tin Tin was the comic I adored, and still do. An abstract reference to Mondrian's grid theory can be seen in the background. He was the first artist that truly struck a chord with me.
