The Client Chique is a family-owned, Bristol-based line of natural, sustainably produced self-care products. Through their online marketplace, Chique sells unique cosmetics, liquid soap, bar soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and hair care products, each of them handmade using time-honoured processes. Objective Chique recently asked BONB Creative & Design to create a visual identity and packaging design for their shampoo and soap products. Their brief specified that the new design should convey Chique’s traditional production methods and commitment to sustainability in a friendly and aspirational way. Solution We combined an elegant traditional font with a clean, contemporary logo to produce a distinctive and versatile basis for Chique’s new brand identity that embraces old and new. Chique’s new colour palette reflects the typography’s timelessness. Colour-coded watercolour illustrations of essential herbs make it easy to identify the natural ingredients used in Chique’s formulations, and create a visual language that can grow as the company adds more products to its line.
