A leading shaving brand are looking to find stories of men who work in life-saving jobs and get an insight into their day-to-day life.
As a first step, we want to see a short pitch that details your story, character, director, relevant work and an outline on your approach to the project. Details of what you should include are outlined in the Process section, below.
You should have contacted your proposed character(s) and add them and potential locations and situations to your pitch. Logistically we are looking for a small, nimble documentary team to go and shoot those characters in their daily job supported by voice overs in the form of non-scripted interviews.
For your stories they’d need to be men in lifesaving jobs for example firefighters, medical staff, army, RNLI or policemen. In the film we’d also like to have a shot of that person shaving and an element of the VO addressing the fact that shaving is a requirement of their job or referencing that the nature of their job and the rigours their skin goes through requires they have a clean shave that doesn’t irritate their skin.
You will be responsible for all permits for filming.
The cast and usage will need to be part of your budget.
All usage for talent will have to be all media (excl TV), worldwide for two years. The release form templates are worded accordingly.
All post production should be included in your budget including three rounds of feedback, basic grade and sound mix and music.
We will select our favourite film-makers and make preliminary calls to assess feasibility before presenting to client. Please note there will be no treatment phase.
1 x 60” film plus rushes.
As a first step we are looking for a 1-2 page pitch introducing your character, location, director and, if applicable production company. You should also include links to showreels and relevant work, an outline of your approach to the film and any references you feel are appropriate.
Once the briefing window is closed, we will review and have calls with our favourite film-makers before awarding production.
Working timings to be confirmed with production company/ film-maker:
Production Window (incl pre-production): 18th September - 7th October
Final Approval/Delivery: 23rd October
Please note there is no treatment phased on this project. Shortlisted filmmakers will be invited for a phone call to discuss their approach.
Your proposal should consider the budget available as a fixed cost as you will be expected to deliver on your pitch. The fixed cost budget will need to cover all production elements including usage, production and post-production.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING YOUR PITCH IS 10TH SEPTEMBER 23:59 PST
