Through the Flare Studio Foundation, we work with leading film schools to bring some of their top flight courses to our talent community – paid for by us – as a means of developing the future of our filmmakers.
We have three places (each worth £750) we’re offering from London’s prestigious Met Film School at the iconic Ealing Studios on their new course, Creating Successful Online Video.
You’ll learn how to effectively shoot and edit using your smartphone, how to self-shoot to optimize your content, including covering practical skills from framing and best use of sound.
You’ll also study the best practice of online storytelling, ensuring your content is rooted in a well-structured story that will retain your audiences attention and communicate your ideas.
There’s also a workshop on pitching skills, learning how to engage a panel with your ideas and business, and you’ll finish by making your own piece of content to be judged by industry experts.
This course is open to anyone in Open Studio who wants to make the next step up into making great content.
The course runs over five days from 4th-15th April 2018, split into two half-days (Wednesdays 7-10pm) and four full-days over two back-to-back weekends (Sat & Sun 10am-5pm).
To apply, show us what you can do now, give us a brief intro of yourself on your smartphone, telling us:
What you hope to get out of the course,
What your ambitions are for your filmmaking,
Where you would like to be in a year’s time
Your favourite piece of online content you’ve seen to date and why
Upload your entries here (don’t forget it to add it to your project dashboard first!) by midnight (23:59 GMT) on Monday 15th January 2018.
