I’ve spent almost a year documenting people who are from immigrant generations across London as well as interviewing them. My project “Dear Motherland” depicts how we as immigrant generations try and fill the disconnect between the UK and our motherland. How we try to connect to our roots whether via community, fashion, or artistically etc. These images are from a selection from my large body of work and which I plan on turning it into a book in 2 years. We've all worked on this together to spread further knowledge about us and our communities. Those who are posted in this selection come from Nigeria, Pakistan, Balochistan and Iraq. My practice delves into photojournalism and many other aspects of photography which can be found in my portfolio/instagram.
