Fashion image maker and Dazed Clubber Keâna Crago features in this week's Club spotlight. To feature in a Dazed spotlight, post your work into the app and our team at Dazed will review posts weekly, select our favourite projects, and spotlight them in the app and on Dazed Digital + Dazed Instagram each month

Pie and Mash Girl is a celebration of women and food. Women are always under so much pressure to focus on what they eat by men and wider society. Pie and Mash Girl shows the innocence of a girl that doesn’t care what these men think. Tucking into these chunky pies, my project juxtaposes what society thinks a woman’s diet should look like. Growing up in the pie and mash shops, pie and mash has always held a special place in my heart. This shoot is inspired by my own experiences as a woman from a working class background.
I’m inspired by my own British and Irish heritage, as well as my upbringing in the outskirts of London by my Irish mother. Pie and Mash Girl not only draws on the British cultural side but also my own experience of girlhood – my strong friend group of creative girls has inspired us to forge our own creative community, where I’m free to speak comfortably about my own experiences as a woman.
I am also hugely in awe of film at the moment. I adore Sofia Coppola and the way she presents these gritty female characters on screen. This has massively influenced the development of the characters I create in my own creative practice. Pie and Mash girl replicates this – a girl with grit.
I mainly go between digital cameras to film video and my dslr for photography. Over the years I have experimented with my own photo and editing techniques and the way I shoot. I feel like my editing style is generally film like but still has this messy feel to it. I’m a bit crazy and I feel like my work tends towards the abstract.
The rise of ‘Girl Dinner’ on social media has made me think more about the foods we eat, and I think generally there’s more focus and scrutiny on women’s diets. I want this piece to have a wider impact and encourage young girls to not have to worry about what they eat for the sake of society, or feel that they need to adhere to patriarchal values.
