Coco-Mat Athens B.C. / Project Urania I

A threefold art venture in collaboration with visual artist Gabriel Leger. The rich past of the historic district exhumed ancient myths and legends that informed three bespoke artworks now spanning the hotel’s main entrance, lobby, and elevators. For the hotel entrance, a large-scale, welcoming floor piece was designed, consisting of an empty pool inside which a bale of clay Caretta Caretta turtles seems to be swimming. Glass is placed on top of the piece to allow for a sensory crossing with multiple poetic and symbolic projections.
