Codi

Coders and Designers unite.

A non-profit organization, Codi is a training centre dedicated to fostering digital and technical skills for underprivileged and marginalized youth in Lebanon. Their mission is to use coding and digital skills as a leverage for not only inclusion and employment, but also as a catalyst for social innovation and diversity. After an intensive 6 months programme, students become skilled and attractive prospects for established and emerging companies in the region. The Keeward Group is an avid supporter of Codi’s mission, and we’ve been partners since the beginning.

Visual ID

When working on Codi’s branding we wanted to reference the two main pillars of the school: Coding and Emancipation through Education. We referenced coding through the use of a color palette that would strike a chord with any coder, Medium Purple; Sky Blue; and Deep Pink. The backdrop’s darker shade was brought in to ground everything while hinting at a blank coding window full of opportunities.
On the other hand we built Codi’s emblem by mixing 3 visual cues: the letter C, a network and radiance. We then applied these main elements to the rest of the brand’s collaterals and subsequent website.

Collaterals

Codi is not your run of the mill coding school. With “Programming for a better future” as their motto, Codi’s purpose goes beyond simply teaching students how to code. They strive to better the community by giving the disenfranchised the necessary tools to take advantage of any opportunity laid out in front of them. As such, the challenge ahead was simple: How to visually translate the NGO’s social mission?
