Conference for Change 2019-2020: Sexual Assault on Campus

Conference for change, 2019-2020, focused on the prevention, implication and context of sexual assault on campus. Due to the pandemic, we hosted the event online, this involved a day of workshops and panel speakers. The workshops discussed topics ranging from the notion of ‘consent’ and sexual relations, the white-washing of sexual assault movements and the hypersexualisation of African-Caribbean men and women, and the role of culture and power dynamics in sexual abuse. The panel discussion involved a number of student leaders and academics, who spoke to promote education and awareness on issues relating to assault and consent.
