Connor's Photos

  • Alistair Wood

This project was one which was highly important to me on a personal level, and also one in which I relinquished control completely as a designer. The below shows the branding for an exhibition consisting entirely of photos taken and curated by an 8-year-old boy (my stepson). The intent behind the project was to show that children with autism do not follow a set of guidelines or stereotypes that have been perpetuated in society by pop culture such as the film Rain Man (1998). It was aimed to capture the beautiful, and not so beautiful, of life from an autistic person's perspective. The result was a set of candid, blurry, imperfect photos that tell some story about the chaos and the carnage.
