My most recent project explored chaos and order in our surroundings, using the cube as an illustration for order. When measuring the built landscape around us in relation to this geometric shape, we start to see examples of adoption and rejection of the cube. This project became somewhat absurd, and definitely obsessive, which ended up aligning with the theory itself. This was the first time I've created a project on an original idea, without other written work and evidence for me to back it up. Using photography as the medium for this work allowed me to illustrate my theory almost as a documentary. Using images of the cubes in location shows my core theory, and the images without the cube of places where the order isn't working, or has been defied, shows evidence for my idea.
