Contemporary Exhibition Design - Thesis Project

  • Christina Kkaili
Exhibitions are not only about “something” but for “someone” and should be planned deliberately, created collaboratively and advocate for diverse ideas, people and communities. This exhibition space is designed to bring the new and contemporary art on display, with an innovative and completely different aspect of design. The minimal aspect of the building lets the observer to understand and appreciate the curved structure and the flow of the building. The interior follows the same style of using few materials so the people will not get distracted and they can focus on the artworks and installations. The space inside captures a lot of physical light, thanks to the “glass rooms” that are connecting the six different structures and also, of the two glass frames that go through the middle of the exhibitions. The location of the “Contemporary Exhibition” is in Florence, Italy and its floating in the river Arno, allowing people to see Florence from a different point of view.
