We created a unified look and feel for Converse’s Instagram channels.

At the start of 2018, Converse approached Anyways to create a cohesive design style for their wide-reaching Instagram presence. With the main account boasting over 6 million followers, it was important the work felt truly part of the well loved brand, and not just a specific season or product.
After a stage of research and exploration, we landed on a flexible system named ‘Bars’. The bars system is scalable, modular and inspired by the bold and graphic angles in the new Converse Star Chevron logo. The bars house content and can be stacked in different ways according to the composition of the content. They are brought to life in both still and moving ways, to feel at home in the ever-moving social world.
For the main brand channel, we worked with Converse to ensure the design was clean and paired back, making sure that the content is showcased as fully as possible. The system can also flex to more bold designs, for special occasions such as events or celebrating the birthday of a Converse ambassador.
After the design for the main account had been created, we brought it to life once more for the @ConverseStyle channel. This account is aimed at a younger fashion follower as a place for inspirational and accessible style. This meant that we needed to adapt the design to capture the attention of this audience. We scaled up the look and feel, adding a brighter colour palette, bolder use of typography and icons - alongside a set of patterns and gradients to a create more characterful feel to the account.
Anyways also worked alongside the It’s Nice That team to create ideas for editorial content to live on Stories, such as Q&A, Converse Dance and Behind the Shoe. The ideas are fun spins on exploring Converse products!
