Cover Illustration for Bulletin Magazine

I was recently commissioned to create a cover illustration for the July issue of Bulletin Magazine, the official magazine for The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. The illustration was also to be used for the feature article so needed to work for both the cover layout and that of the inside. The topic of the article was about an initiative by speech and language therapists and their patients called ‘CafeHab’. CafeHab was created to allow patients to test out their speech in a safe and informal setting during their rehabilitation. I was given free reign with the brief, but since my style is quite literal I was happy to create a scene of people enjoying a coffee and an informal chat, with a nod to the theme of speech and language.
