During autumn 2017, different Renaissance hotels were invited to execute their own version of The Navigator’s Table Dinner Series for approximately 12-16 guests. Renaissance Hotel Barcelona was one of the chosen locations for the The Navigator’s Table Dinner Series. This special dinner was to be presented as a blank canvas in order for the food to be the clear protagonist. Guests would be invited to “play with their food”, creating savoury works of art to be devoured with gusto. As Event Planner, it was my job to: - Source rentals, purchase props and decorative elements, all in white. - Source staff attire. - Propose creative ideas for place cards. - As the dinner would be held on the Hotel terrace, a contingency plan for rain was necessary. - Choose a photographer. - Create event budget and communicate costs. - Create Run of Show and other planning documents. - Manage printing of graphics. - Early start on the day of the event to ensure correct staging. - Decorate table. - Ensure timings were running accordingly once the event began.
