Cucina Colosseo FMCG Packaging

  • Josh Cuss

A mock brief during studies at CATC Design School. This project required us to design packaging solutions for Cucina Colosseo, an Australian brand who are firmly established in the FMCG market. They offer a range of gourmet, high-end options for ready-made dining that are dependable, delicious, elegant and convenient. With the high end market in mind, I decided to go with an off-black for the base colour in the packaging. I wanted to include the Italian heritage behind the products somewhere in the packaging design. Whilst undertaking my research I found that many ready made food packaging that is Italian can look quite cheap if you over use the colours of the flag. I combined the need for a way to see the food inside the packaging with the flag. The panels inside the flag were die cut, enabling the consumer to see the product before buying.
