Cyanotype sur meule

  • Yannick Luthy

I was asked to do a photography exhibition about raclette cheese. I decided to work the image directly on the cheese. With a touch of provocation, I imagined bold associations and allowed the raclette to free itself from its codes. In reference to the artisanal production of raclette, I used cyanotype, an ancient photographic process invented in the 19th century, through which a cyan blue photographic print is obtained. The cheese is the support and welcomes in its flesh the forbidden pleasure.
