The task was an app design that helps users live healthier, happier lifestyles, through building better habits. The app was targeted at those young adults and older, who have an interest in health and wellbeing. While there are a lot of productivity apps out there, most are only suited to the tasks that go on when a habit is already taking place. They do not cater to the challenge of maintaining habits. Also, they offer little visual engagement. The app had to have visual stimulating. The tone of voice needed to be friendly, supportive and convey motivational message. Deliverables were an a high-fidelity design that included all essential screens and video proto-type. Navigation stripped to essentials only and made similar to popular apps design to be intuitive. Keeping cognitive load low. To engage the user visually, I added character animation work with a colour palette to match the interface. Users are greeted by motivational quotes on the every time they use the app and share their progress with friends on social media. When creating a habit the “S.T.A.R. goals system” is used. Ultimately helping users achieve to their goals. The end result was a very efficient app, that lets users complete tasks in seconds and is attractive enough to inspire delight and keep users coming back. Looking to the future, if I were to update the app, I’d integrate a comments feature directly within the app, enhancing the in-app social experience.
