I created this story for The Feed SBS VICELAND looking into the long term effects of repeated head knocks in football.
Over the last 15 years the NFL has discovered a brain disease called CTE, a form a dementia that sets on quite early in life. Referred to as punch drunk in boxing, it’s the same thing. It’s a disease that comes at the result of these repeated head knocks. Concussions, yes, but also the smaller constant knocks that don’t show symptoms.
This story is asking, if this is going on in the NFL, then what’s the risk for our Aussie codes of AFL, NRL and Rugby Union?
