Website available at: This online experience is a response to the problem of data collection and tracking. It consists of two simple parts: the experience itself, followed by an informative part. In the experience the user is asked to complete a very simple sentence in an imitation of a search engine. Afterwards, the typed word is detected by “algorithms” as a subject of interest and the user is flooded with content and advertisements concerning this particular topic. The experience constitutes an exaggerated reflection of the reality of data tracking on the Internet. In real life however, it becomes much more complex and dangerous. The informative page explains the phenomenon, the threat is poses to Internet users and its possible consequences, and provides the user with simple measures to prevent data tracking.
