Founded in 2013 the Data & Ethics Working Group (DEWG) was a collaborative research group featuring artists, designers and scientists, using art to explore public interaction with data access, exchange and retrieval systems, and the ethical implications of data ownership.
A series of three 'experiments' were conducted by DEWG:
Experiment #1 Terms & Conditions (9th - 10th November 2013) at the European Parliament, Brussels.
Experiment #2 Consent (13th - 14th September 2014) at Museum Boijmans van Beuningen with Thought Collider and The Netherlands Metabolomics Centre.
Experiment #3 Surveillance (15th June - 16th November 2014) as part of Big Bang Data at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona.
