David Bowie "Unseen" at Warner Music HQ and Imitate Modern

  • Anya Zraykat

I have curated the exhibition of Tony McGee's photographs at Imitate Modern Gallery and was then invited to bring this exhibition to Warner Music HQ. The exhibition featured unpublished and unseen photographs of David Bowie as well as original contact sheets bearing David Bowie's signature, writing and gold star stickers he put to indicate the images he liked. The exhibition revealed a personal side of the musician, in contrast to the many characters that he impersonated throughout his career. The exhibition was widely reported in the press and was a big hit amongst David Bowie fans and was therefore extended at the gallery and travelled to Warner Music HQ. Together with the Imitate Modern team we designed the exhibition catalogue, merchandise and press material. At the time I was in the top position in the company, overseeing the work of the team and the success of the whole project.
