Dazed 100

My name is Ricardo Diseño and I am a freelance illustrator who has worked for ‘The New York Times”, “The New Yorker”, and “Vice Media”. Along with editorial work I've published many projects with San Francisco publisher “Chronicle Books”. My newest project with Chronicle is ‘Eerie Legends” is a fully illustrated collection of ghost stories from around the world. I'm also known in the New York and Los Angeles dance party circuit as a poster designer for “Peer Pressure” and “A Club Called Rhonda”. My proposal for the Dazed 100 is a horror comic anthology called “Trouble in Eden” where a fashionable young woman named Eden travels the world on assignment for her various publishers but somehow keeps finding herself derailed from her subject and ends up uncovering supernatural and strange occurrences. Think of it as a mix of “Sex and the City” and “Murder She Wrote” with a little “X-files” thrown in for good measure. The stories range from a possessed dollhouse, a crazed robot alligator, alien spiders, bloodthirsty tech Ceos, and a hypnotic cat. Recalling the classic horror comics of the 60’s, 70’s like Creepshow and Vampirella, this will have 3-4 short stories in each issue. The goal for this is to self publish and create an online subscription system where readers will have a new issue twice a year.
