I'm Alex Murphy, a photographer based across Bristol and London. I have a love for shooting film and capturing someone's essence in their portrait - their style, attitude, piercing eyes, the tattoos through the mesh of their shirt and the outfit they safety pinned together.   My work is people-focussed and predominantly documents the queer community. I am drawn to capturing the community within otherness and themes of identity, connection, politics and queerness.  You can find me at pride marches across cities with my film camera, or at the local queer club asking a drag queen for her portrait or a close up of her platform f*ck-off-boots.
