Beyond the mirror: the four stages "Beyond the Mirror" follows identical twins through a journey of self-discovery in a society—and industry—that often blurs their individuality, reducing them to one shared identity. While they share genes, appearance, and background, each twin has a distinct soul, style, and perspective. This project blends editorial fashion with societal critique, exploring the emotional impact of these pressures through four stages mirroring the stages of grief: denial, anger, sadness, and acceptance. Each stage is expressed through styling and poses that embody their evolving emotions. Stage 1 : Denial In denial, the twins unconsciously mirror each other’s poses in subtly different ways, symbolizing their inner conflict: their subconscious recognizes their bond, while their conscious minds resist fully embracing it. Styling is layered and ambiguous, hinting at hidden identities caught between unity and selfhood.

Stage 2 : Anger
In anger, the twins project frustration onto one another—not solely out of direct conflict but as a response to society’s tendency to merge their identities into one. The constant societal comparison fuels resentment, which they channel toward each other, even though it’s a reflection of external pressures. Bold, intense outfits reflect a rebellion against being boxed into a single identity, embodying their struggle to assert individuality. This phase conveys raw energy and defiance, though their bond remains resilient beneath the turmoil.
Stage 3 : Sadness
Sadness reveals the emotional toll of feeling unseen and misunderstood. Styled in somber tones and reflective silhouettes, this phase emphasizes empathy, introspection, and the shared solitude of being misunderstood. Despite the melancholy, their bond deepens as they support each other through this struggle.
Stage 4 : Acceptance
Acceptance is where they fully embrace each other’s uniqueness while honoring their connection. Through vibrant, celebratory styling, they communicate mutual respect and growth, embodying their individual identities while remaining intertwined. This evolution serves as a message to society that, though connected, each twin is a distinct, whole individual.
This project becomes a visual and emotional narrative, fusing high-fashion aesthetics with a powerful exploration of identity, individuality, and the complex experience of twinhood in a world inclined to see them as one.
