DEAR NOAH

  • Anne-Claire Vigreux

DEAR NOAH is a visual time capsule and an open love letter towards the next generation illustrating and documenting 2020, through of the lens of the civil right movement "Black Lives Matter", what it represents for our time and what it means to be born Black in the world this pivotal year. The project is a series of love letters from Black Womxn to children explaining what we are living now and what Black Womxn are feeling about it. It is a way like a journal to process what is happening right now. It is also an educational tool for Black children to grow up feeling seen, empowered, loved and less scared. Finally, it is a medium to speak to one's inner child, the "younger self", the child which might have been neglected growing up as safe spaces of vulnerability were not a common place 10-20 years ago for Black Womxn. The book will include love letters but also art (illustrations, photos / portraits, collages, poems, quotes...) created by contributing artists embodying this defining year. You can find more information on the website of the project: https://www.dearnoahproject.com/ Feel free to reach out to join the project, we want to hear from you.
