Design District x Dazed - On Creativity

  • Felipe Enger

Design District in association with Dazed invited me to visually interpret “creativity”. This is what I came up with: Thinking about the new Design District and London, one of the main creative hubs in the world, the first thing that came to my mind was the city's cultural diversity. That made me decide to visually explore the word “creativity” in the 20 most spoken languages in London, according to the last Census. To make it more interesting, I also added some beetles. In ancient Egypt, the scarab beetle was the hieroglyph that represented the idea of creation, development.

Design District was so pleased with my work, that they asked me to adapt the GIF into an image to be used as the design for a tote bag that they would give out at an event on Greenwich Peninsula.
