Inspired by a personal conversation with my mother, who has been living with diabetes for nearly a decade. When I asked her if she still craves sugar, her response was poignant: "Sugar is like a drug to me." This powerful statement serves as the core visual theme of the project, illustrating how something as simple and sweet as sugar can transform into a harmful substance for those living with diabetes. Through these images, the project seeks to capture the tension between desire and restriction, highlighting the emotional and physical challenges faced by diabetics. It is a visual narrative that not only depicts the everyday realities of living with diabetes but also emphasizes the resilience and strength required to navigate this chronic illness.
