Digital Archive

These projection photographs represent a new lease of life for unwanted and forgotten images. Unwanted digital images usually get discarded, whilst unwanted analogue images will remain on the negative, they are still a physical. Working with digital photography for the past 4 years, I had collected an archive of digital images, which I hadn’t discarded, but neither used or looked at in years.
Projecting these images, I have re-photographed them to make them a completely new image with it’s own purpose, different to the original. The colours have been created through the projection, which I learnt to take control of, taking these new images further away from the original.
I have made ‘Digital is for forgetting’ into remembering these digital, images that were once forgotten.
The images were taken from the past five years of my journey as a practitioner. The images from this series have been recreated from images from Manchester, London and North Wales.
