Dj Mystikle Blue: International Women's Day 21'

This was a collaborative project with DJ Mystikle Blue, aka Jemma Yoloye aka Queen of the decks is the West Midlands ‘king’ of the Decks Champion and Smirnoff National DJ champion, she is a Miss GB Classic Finalist 2021, a skincare, hair care and fashion model, and was recently featured on the cover of @graziauk for the ‘Own Your Beauty’ Campaign. I wanted to create an editorial style shoot for social media to showcase Mrs Yoloye's achievements for International Women's Day. I photographed, styled, and art directed the shoot and designed the editorial style 2-page spreads. Project Caption: An incredibly talented and inspiring women, I shot with Mrs Yoloye a few weeks back, and it was great to hear stories about her early days of getting into DJing, recounting that she bought an ex-partner a pair of decks that they wanted only to become immensely more interested in them herself, and how she was seen as incapable of possibly being able to DJ when entering DJ competitions in her native Birmingham, only to win the competition, much to the dismay of the male competitors who would ‘try to show her how to use the decks’ before the competition would start. Mrs Yoloye is an amazing woman who I imagine has only much more greatness to show the world.
