By shedding light on its creation and effects, VRA aimed to instil a sense of national pride, using the dam as a symbol of Ghana's innovative and resourceful spirit.
Approach:
Eagle's dedicated research team embarked on an extensive journey to uncover the story behind the dam. They scouted locations, consulted current and past VRA staff, residents, traditional leaders, and experts who worked on the project. They even visited resettled communities that were affected by the dam's construction. With their findings, the team developed a script and storyboard, forming the foundation of a remarkable project.
Results:
Over the course of three months, our production crew captured breathtaking footage and conducted insightful interviews along the length and breadth of the Volta River. The result? A captivating three-part mini docu-series that delves into the history of the Akosombo Dam, the stories of its affected communities, and the environmental impact it has had. These videos have not only allowed VRA and its stakeholders to gain a deeper appreciation for the rich culture and history of the Volta River, but they have also garnered over 30,000 views and counting.
