Every 6 minutes, Dogs Trust get a call from someone wanting to give up their dog, and in the run up to Christmas, internet searches for puppies leap by 44% while searches to ‘get a dog’ increase by 27%. It’s now so easy to give or get a dog on impulse.
But the charity want to urge everyone to ‘paws’ and properly consider bringing a dog home, to make sure it’s their forever home. This spot, voted the number 1 Christmas ad of 2019 in a public poll, highlights the heartbreak of abandoned pets over the festive season, reminding the nation that a dog is for life, not just for Christmas.
