BRIEF WALLPAINTING/ CORRIDOR Schedule: - bring part 1 of the brief tuesday 17 feb - we choose and plan the design - shopping of tools and equipment - paint all week/ ideally depend on sketches coming up on tuesday - friday 20 paint dresscode: + wear clothes that can get paint on them + bring an old kitchen cloth for easy cleaning aim: + to make a welcoming entrance and portal to the 6th floor visual communication studios. + to be bright/ colourful/ playful + to create a series of patterns and shapes that can be composed together and painted on the walls brief PART 1: - make sketches of patterns/ compositions and shapes that follows the criteria of this document. - create 20 to 50 images/ patterns - use large sheets, minimum A3 - use different materials and tools to create your marks - be abstract/ playful style: Inspired by the Memphis group spirit: bizarre, misunderstood, loathed, wedding between Bauhaus and Fisher-Price, Art-deco, 50-ies kitch, ephemeral design, colourful decoration, asymetrical shapes and alluding to exotic or earlier styles.
