Building this website was a good challenge as it taught me how to create a left-to-right and right-to-left website as I had not tackled something like this before and do not speak Arabic. This project thoroughly helped increase my knowledge of multi-lingual websites and development issues that can arise when working with multiple languages.
This is especially true with the fonts being used as some fonts may only be available in certain languages, and differents fonts may also have different issues with the sizing across various languages. This is important in Arabic where letters joined together, and the same letters with a space can mean different things.
The website included features such as an instagram slider of their most recent posts, the ability to upload jobs and volunteer opportunities which users could apply for directly in the website, and donate directly within the website.
The donation feature was quite possibly the most important as it helps the society provide better tools and opportunities to children with Down Syndrome.
