These 10 workshops were developed in conjunction with the exhibition "Who's Afraid of Drawing' drawings from the Ramo Collection Milan, displayed on Galleries 1 &2 of the Estorick. Working with a range of groups from Primary children in Yr1 to Adults from artboxlondon I lead drawing workshops in the studio space. The workshops had two strands 'copy cats' for the younger children and 'who's afraid of drawing?' for the older students. The workshops focused on exploratory drawing and combined traditional and non traditional drawing materials. Rather than focus on the outcome, the workshops concentrated on on 'the act of drawing'– the actions that are involved in drawing and the performance of making– to give us an expanded idea of what a drawing is and how we might go about making a drawing. The students worked across the floor of the gallery in order to become more physically engaged in the drawing process.
