Drawnalism

Drawnalism capture information and data in an engaging illustration style through three key services. Having worked with them previously on their Mailchimp database implementing a series of templates, Matt and Alex asked us to review their identity and brand. As is sometimes the case, all it really needed was a tweak here, some consistent typography across all channels there, and a tighter but expanded colour palette. The other outcome from the ‘audit’ was a redesigned website built within the Squarespace platform. The design utilises an asymmetric grid with supporting photography in black and white to accentuate any illustrations. As part of the audit we investigated the range of ‘standard’ typefaces between Mailchimp and Squarespace which informed the consistent identity and brand. We used Spike Milligan’s ‘On the Ning Nang Nong’ in our audit to illustrate and select the final typeface choices because… why not?
