Teaming up with BBH London, we created a winning alternative to traditional media buying for Dulux—driving maximum efficiency for their marketing spend. Never ones to follow the herd, we conceived a powerful interactive experience to sit on Dulux’s website. This allowed them to spend the same media budget but enjoy a significantly higher volume of ad placements. Dulux and BBH developed an engaging and creative concept for its flagship TV campaign—an imaginary, dystopian future in which the “Color Rebels” fight against an autocratic monochrome dictatorship. We worked with the paint giant to devise a Steadicam walk-through of the Color Rebels’ HQ. Viewers could hover over any object in the video and reveal an instant color swatch featuring a color from the paint range. Hotspots revealed a live Pinterest inspiration board, replete with a palette of complementary tones, as well as the opportunity to purchase tester pots and a chance to win a complete home makeover.
