Durex & Boon

"There are more than 1 billion disabled people in the world. That’s roughly 15% of the world’s population, a huge number. And more than 50% of them do not have any form of a regular sex life. Disabled people have and enjoy sex, yet are often not seen as sexual beings, in some cases even being excluded from sexual education at a young age, which further marginalises this community and excludes them from having a fulfilling sex life. "

A collaborative competition hosted by Durex, Mills & Boon and London Writers Awards offers a new platform for the disabled community to voice their sexual fantasies.

Starting with a 'Durex & Boon Erotic Novel Generator', the participant inputs names for their characters and genitals alongside adjectives and verbs which are then used to create an entirely original extract in the style of Mills & Boon. This is used as an ever-changing digital and print campaign to promote the competition.

To run parallel with the competition, encouraging involvement, events with esablished writers and mentor schemes offer further connections between communities and the reach of the platform.
