Earth Stories is a journalism site that seeks out alternative stories from across the globe regarding the natural world. The brief was to give the writers and editors a visual voice in the digital space that reflected the published content, and giving users a clear and concise journey to articles of interest.
Animation plays an integral part in enhancing the user's experience, by using subtle animation to guide and give hints give the users a fully immersive experience. The additional use of the animated logo was a simple but effective way to draw attention to the brand and increase awareness.
I set the content against a dark background, this allows the photography to stand centre stage. Not only was this good from a photographic point of view, but created a better user experience and longer viewing sessions.
Accompanying business cards were created to increase brand awareness further and help gain business. By taking elements of the brand and only showing relevant info only gives the cards a minimal and simplistic look with all the vital information available at a glance.
