Project for MAS, Belgian Museum of Arts and Carolyn Steel (English writer) Mankind who wanted to be God. After her graceless fall Eve lays in the garden of her creator, Scantily dressed, in ennobled waste, she has become one with her surroundings. Hungry, almost androgynously beautiful, she seduces Adam, (the viewer) to take a bite from the now blackened apple. Her fertile red tresses conceal the horns growing from her head. Ingeniously, with luring expression she stirs the deepest desires, her faithful companion like a devilish jewel meandering around her left leg. (We fall victim to our our own curse, our very own fall from grace. Our intrinsic ambivialence transmutes fertility to destruction and beauty to horror.)
