CONTROL was created by conceptual artist Stephen Willats and founded in 1965. Amazingly, 53 years later the project is still alive and well, and in it’s wake, remains a truly impressive body of work.
CONTROL is both a familiar word in our lives and well understood in terms of it’s many possible meanings and contexts. The brief of this project was to break down, conceptualise, and define CONTROL into a number of varied angles and approaches - everything from political opinion to personal interests and how they want to take it forward into editorial content and direction for each issue.
For this project, I focused on self-control and the loss of control.
