Brief Eight Thirty is a breakfast brand who find the most important meal of the day - a bit of a bore. Thea decided it was time to mix things up and find a quick way of packing breakfast full of flavour, without all the faff of that #blessed goodness bowl. The fruit of her labours? Freeze-dried food powders. For launch, we were asked to create a brand identity that would inspire and delight breakfast goers.
Approach Born out of a genuine frustration, the core issue being an illusion of choice for breakfast, at home and on the go. The opportunity? To own taste over routine and function. Founded on principles of realness, wit and delight, we drew inspiration from the blended powders and applied bespoke ink works to give each flavour it’s own identity. Developing a strategy which focusses on becoming the blended habit, uninterrupted, every morning, giving your taste buds a wake up call along the way.
Outcome The design illustrates the brand concept: The Blended Habit. Maintaining the real, everyday approach for that moment of calm - through natural ink and palette selections, carefully paired bold typography complimented by playful iconography. Once combined, it creates a simple, straight-forward visual with a vocal touch of wit for the brand to tell it’s story, sell it’s subscription and keep it’s following up to date on it’s naturally, blended food powders.
