EIM Performative Concert
With Ilmārs Šterns & Maija Solovjova EIM is a project that challenges the very formats of both performance and concert, playing with their structure and breaking traditional conventions. EIM comprises both original pieces created for the conceptual concert and other works, previously composed by all of its performers, thus forming a new creation characterized by the compresence of multiple perspectives.
Two of the questions that emerges are when we can consider sounds
music, and where the line of demarcation between the performative
aspect of music and the musical aspect of a performance can be drawn.
These questions are not just an intellectual investigation, for its
embodied process calls for memories and feelings, provoking strong
physical and emotional responses not only in the performers, but also in
the audience
