El Warcha Lisbon logo

  • Carolina Borges Sacoto

El Warcha - “workshop” in Arabic - is a collective and makerspace founded in 2016 in the medina of Tunis, Tunisia. It aims to bring those on the periphery society into a communal space where they can share their skills or learn from others, and be reintegrated into society through the making of temporary urban furniture and art installations with local inhabitants. In 2018 the project established itself in Tottenham, north London. Currently the team is working towards developing El Warcha, in Nefta, Lisbon and Davis California where members of the collective are now based. I recently joined the Lisbon team and developed the logo based on the existing graphic language.
