Elemental

  • Toby Crowther

An experiential pop-up space called the Elemental. Utilising motion type and immersive environment design, it highlights the disconnect between society and nature. The Elemental would appear in cities worldwide, each time in an open space where it will stand out and raise curiosity amongst the public. Within, visitors are shown into the space in groups where a giant LED screen would fill the space with light with powerful messaging about the topic.

A brutalist-style staircase leads visitors into an elevated tent-like structure. Within, a 6 meter tall virtual LED wall towers over visitors, on which a sequence of motion graphics play, filling the space with intense and energetic light. The interior of the space would create a jarring atmosphere when exposing the issues of an urban world.
This would interject people from their day to day city lives, giving them a truly unique experience which raises important questions - Elemental isn’t there to answer them. It’s there to challenge visitors perception of what nature means to them.
